On September 10, through the coordination of Wu Yinshu, Executive Vice President of Taizhou Overseas Chinese Friendship Association and Supervisor General of Taizhou Pharmaceutical Association, a delegation led by Zhao Siyuan, Executive President of Hainan Federation of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs and Chairman of China Medical & Health Care Park and Hainan Traditional Chinese Medicine Import & Export Trading Base, visited Taizhou for investigation and exchange. Lu Jie, Chairman of Taizhou Overseas Chinese Federation, gave a warm reception to the delegation. Zhou Jihong, Chairman of Taizhou Pharmaceutical Association, accompanied the inspection and attended the forum. Zhou Feng, Chairman of Jiangsu Suxuantang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., accompanied the reception and presided over the forum. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on core topics such as the "collective global expansion" of traditional Chinese medicine products and the internationalization of the ginkgo industry, and reached a number of important cooperation consensuses.
At the forum, Chairman Zhou Jihong, on behalf of Taizhou Pharmaceutical Association, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. As a "Famous Health City", Taizhou boasts profound traditional Chinese medicine cultural heritage and a thriving pharmaceutical industrial cluster. In recent years, Taizhou Pharmaceutical Association has fully played its role as a bridge, actively encouraging local pharmaceutical enterprises to align with international standards and improve product quality and innovation capacity. This exchange with Hainan Federation of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs provides a valuable opportunity for Taizhou TCM enterprises to leverage the policy dividends of Hainan Free Trade Port and expand overseas markets.
Chairman Zhao Siyuan made an in-depth analysis of the current development of traditional Chinese medicine in the international market. He pointed out that with the rising global attention to traditional medicine and health preservation, traditional Chinese medicine is facing unprecedented overseas market opportunities. Especially in Southeast Asia, Europe, America and other regions, recognition and demand for TCM products keep growing. He stated that the core purpose of this visit to Taizhou is to utilize the overseas resources and platform advantages of Hainan Federation of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs, help Taizhou TCM products go global in groups, and support local characteristic pharmaceutical industries to explore international markets.
As a US-listed enterprise, Jiangsu Suxuantang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and its products attracted great attention from the delegation. Zhao Siyuan has strong confidence in the overseas prospect of Suxuantang’s products. He believes its product system is highly compatible with overseas market demands and features strong international competitiveness. The two sides carried out preliminary discussions on specific cooperation directions including product registration, channel connection and brand promotion.
To further deepen economic and trade cooperation between the two regions, Taizhou Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Hainan Federation of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs formally signed a Memorandum of Friendly Cooperation. Both sides initially finalized a framework agreement to strengthen friendly ties, agreeing to establish a regular exchange mechanism covering information sharing, resource matching, enterprise mutual visits and project cooperation. This marks that cooperation between overseas Chinese business organizations of the two places has entered an institutionalized and substantive new stage, and also builds an important bridge for Taizhou’s TCM and big health industries to access the policy strengths of Hainan Free Trade Port.
During their stay in Taizhou, Zhao Siyuan and his entourage also visited the exhibition hall of Taizhou Medical City, learning in detail about the achievements made by Taizhou National High-Tech Pharmaceutical Zone in industrial agglomeration, scientific and technological innovation and platform construction. The delegation spoke highly of the development scale and industrial ecosystem of Taizhou Medical City, holding that Taizhou has solid industrial foundation and broad cooperation potential in TCM and big health sectors.
This investigation and exchange has not only deepened mutual understanding and trust between Hainan and Taizhou in the field of traditional Chinese medicine, but also laid a solid foundation for subsequent substantive cooperation. Taking this exchange as a new starting point, Taizhou Pharmaceutical Association will continuously perform its function as an industrial platform, actively connect high-quality resources at home and abroad, help Taizhou pharmaceutical enterprises "go global", and contribute Taizhou’s strength to building a global community of health for all.
